Police Chief

The City of Nashwauk is seeking applicants for the position of Police Chief within the Nashwauk Police Department. The Police Chief starting base salary in 2024 is $90,336.00, per the collective bargaining agreement. The benefit package includes PERA, health insurance, health insurance deductible contributions, dental, vision, LTD, vacation, personal days, bereavement leave, paid holidays, sick leave, longevity pay, uniform allowance, and employer paid POST licensing.

Qualified candidates will have 8 or more years of law enforcement experience including drug enforcement, investigation activities, and community relations; hold an AAS degree in law enforcement; have a valid Minnesota Peace officer License or obtain it by the time of appointment; and possess a valid class D driver’s license.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with 3 years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory role in law enforcement or emergency services; as well as those who hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

Patrol Officer

The City of Nashwauk is seeking applicants for a for Full-time Patrol Officer within the Nashwauk Police Department. Starting wage for this position is $28.73 per hour based on the collective bargaining agreement. There will be opportunity for overtime. FULL-TIME EMT

The City of Nashwauk is seeking candidates a full-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for its BLS Service. Eligible candidates will have current Minnesota State Certified EMT license as well as be Nationally Registered (NREMT), have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a valid driver’s license with no major infractions. Candidates must also have a strong work ethic and self-motivated personality. EMTs are expected to respond to 911 calls, take transfers between facilities, attend training, maintain their licensing, maintain equipment and other regular duties. A thorough background check and drug test will be conducted upon a job being offered. Starting pay for the position is $17.00/hr according to union contract. Employees will have PTO after one year of continuous service, paid holidays, PERA, consistent scheduling and 1 paid continuing ed conference per year.
